Eublepharis
angramainyu (Anderson & Leviton 1966)
Type locality
Masjid soleyman & Batvand in the Khuzesdan province Iran.
Our collection areas are centered arround the western foothills
of the Zagros Mountatins.
Color Pattern
Dorsum pattern less and pinkish to white in color
Size
It is smaller in size to eublepharis macularius, afghanicus or
the very large turkmenicus with males of this species ranging
from a Snout-Vent length of 14 to 14.5 cm, females 13 to
13.5 cm S-V length.
Habitat
The area in which they are found in the western foothills of the
Zagros Mountains is a region of extensive gypsum deposits - they
are fairly well distributed and mostly found under these stones
while spending the day in the deep crevices and small caverns
in the gypsum. In these retreats there is water for much or all
of the year, and the relative humidity is fairly high. Other than
the seasonal plantings of grains and the annual herbaceous plants
in the spring, the hillsides where this animal lives are devoid
of vegetation.
